THE SUPREME IMPORTANCE OF THE MOTHER:

The Educator of Humanity: (Ashley Montague: The Humanization of Man).
Note the size of the child’s hands compared to the mother’s. Note the size of the child’s head compared to the mother’s. This picture vividly shows us that the priority in human development is the brain. The brain is a lipid - special essential fat rich organ. Yet the paradigm for food production is protein which is for body growth.

The nutrition and health of the brain is being ignored. The cost:- an escalation of mental ill health, a shrinking brain and fall in the measures of intelligence since 1950.

During early development the future health and abilities of the child depend on the mother, her health and nutrition before conception, in pregnancy and nursing of the new-born. Maternal/fetal/new-born malnutrition, especially malnutrition of the brain-specific nutrients, during this early period leaves irreparable damage sentencing the child to a lifetime of physical and mental limitations.

The research we have funded at the IBCHN in the East -end of London, and Imperial College, with much supporting science, defines the way to stop preterm birth, low birthweight and lipid malnutrition. Help us put this knowledge into action to reverse the decline in mental health. It is the future of our children and theirs that is at stake.
